We’re getting married!

Hello!

We are so excited to celebrate with our favorite people in one of the prettiest corners of the world!

While the wedding itself will take place at The Other Side on Eleuthera, we’ll be calling Harbour Island home for the weekend. Don’t let the geography fool you: getting between the two is easy, and we’ll make sure everyone gets where they need to be.

We have attempted to answer any potential questions throughout this website, but please feel free to reach out to us directly and we are happy to provide any additional detail we can.

Prepare yourself for pink sand beaches, golf carts, rum punches, turquoise water, and hopefully one very good party!

GETTING TO THE BAHAMAS

FLY INTO NORTH ELEUTHERA (ELH)

  • The easiest way to reach Harbour Island is by flying into North Eleuthera Airport (ELH)

  • There are several convenient ways to reach North Eleuthera from the US:

    • American Airlines: Fly via Miami (MIA) or Charlotte (CLT)

    • Delta: Fly via Atlanta (ATL)

  • We recommend booking flights early as flights will book up

GETTING TO HARBOUR ISLAND

  • From the airport, the journey to Harbour Island is straightforward:

  1. Land at North Eleuthera Airport (ELH)

  2. Take a short cab ride (~5 mins) to the dock (cabs will be lined up outside of the airport)

  3. Hop on a quick (~5-10 mins) water taxi across the harbor (water taxis will be waiting at the dock)

  4. Arrive on Harbour Island at either Valentine’s or Government Dock

  5. Arrange to pick up your golf cart at either dock and it will be waiting for you

  • The entire journey from airport to Harbour Island typically takes around 30–45 minutes, depending on timing and connections.

  • It may sound complicated but we promise it isn’t! Once you land, there will be a very clear flow of people and locals to guide you from airport to cab to water taxi to Harbour Island

  • The water taxi will take you to Governor’s Dock ($5) or Valentine’s ($10), but candidly they are about 100 yards from each so either option either works just fine

  • Once you arrive, you can grab a golf cart and you’re officially on island time!

REMINDER! Don’t forget your passport and some USD - your cab and water taxi will charge a fee per head and only accept cash.

STAYING ON harbour island

We encourage guests to stay on Harbour Island. We recommend using our travel agent for help when booking: Charlotte Said (charlotte@loudelissertravel.com).

ACCOMMODATIONS

  • There are accommodations for every type of traveler, from hotels and boutique properties to private homes and vacation rentals

  • We recommend booking as soon as you can confirm your attendance, and suggest looking at any of the following depending on your desired accommodations:

    • Hotels and boutique resorts (Coral Sands, The Dunmore, Pink Sands, Valentine’s, and Rock House are a few favorites) 

    • Vacation rental homes

    • Airbnb and VRBO properties

  • A quick note on location: Harbour Island is small, so you don’t need to overthink exactly where you’re staying. Once you’re on the island, everything is just a short golf cart ride away. The Hotels on the East Side of the Island offer the easiest access to the famous Pink Sand beaches, but they can easily be accessed no matter where you’re staying.

TRANSPORTATION

  • We recommend guests book golf carts to easily access the whole island!

  • Part of the charm of Harbour Island is how small and accessible it is! At just about 3 miles long from tip to tip, there are almost no cars on the Island and it is primarily navigated by golf cart or on foot

  • We encourage guests to book a golf cart via one of the many rental companies (Lulu’s, Kiplin, Conch & Coconut, and Dunmore Rentals amongst others). Like accommodations, we recommend moving quickly once your schedule has been finalized

  • Typically, once booked, the rental company will work with you to deliver the golf cart to Governor’s Dock or Valentine’s and have it waiting upon your arrival

  • Fly into North Eleuthera Airport (ELH).

    After arriving at North Eleuthera Airport, you’ll take a 5 minute taxi ride to the dock (taxis will line up outside the airport).

    From there, water taxis (which will be waiting by the dock) regularly make the 8 minute crossing to Harbour Island, and cost between $5 and $10 cash.

    Get dropped off at Valentine’s Dock or the Government Dock, and coordinate with your golf cart rental to have your cart waiting for you.

  • Golf Carts >>> Rental Cars.

  • No! We recommend that all guests stay on Harbour Island.

    While the wedding venue, The Other Side, is located across the water on Eleuthera, transportation to and from the venue will be arranged on Saturday.

  • The wedding day will take place on Eleuthera. This does not mean you need to relocate hotels or embark on a complicated expedition.

    On Saturday, guests will take a quick boat ride directly from Harbour Island to The Other Side, where the ceremony and celebration will take place. Transportation will be coordinated for wedding guests, and everyone will return to Harbour Island afterward.

    We’ll provide detailed timing and transportation instructions as the wedding approaches.

    If you are still reading this, I’m certain you are the type of person who will be able to navigate all these logistics flawlessly.

  • We will provide attire guidance closer to the wedding, check the events page for more information.

    Events will take place both indoors and outside, so prepare for warm weather, ocean breezes, and a bit of sand!

  • May is a beautiful time of year in the Bahamas. Expect warm temperatures, sunshine, and tropical breezes.

  • Please note that all events will be adults only.

    We love your little children and of course remember all their names, birthdays, and favorite colors. We totally get that you might want to bring your kids to Harbour Island and that is fine, but please line up childcare throughout the weekend in advance.

  • Get ready for Island Time! There are a variety of different beautiful boutiques, delicious restaurants, coffee shops, and dive bars to fill your down-time.

    We know you all are traveling a ways to come celebrate with us, so we really hope you can make a true vacation out of the weekend.

    • Beach: Harbour Island is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas, including its famous pink sand beaches and stunning blue waters

    • Eat & Drink: From casual beach shacks to iconic island restaurants, Harbour Island has an exceptional food scene for a very small island

    • Get on the Water: Charter a boat, go snorkeling, see the famous pigs, explore nearby cays, or spend the afternoon finding a beach only accessible by water
